Mountain Castles Soil and Water Conservation District is providing two camp scholarships to the 2015 Youth Conservation Camp, held July 12-18 at Virginia Tech. This annual camp sponsored by the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts brings together students in grades 9-12 from across the state for a week-long, hands-on experience. Students learn about natural resources from conservation professionals and university faculty. The camp features field trips and tours along with recreational and social opportunities for the participants.
In addition, Mountain Castles is offering two scholarships for students ages 13-16 to attend the Holiday Lake Forestry Camp in Appomattox. Sponsored by the Virginia Department of Forestry, this week-long camp focuses on providing students field experiences in forestry. It will be held June 15-20.
